Hollywood Bakery
and Espresso
Pakuranga Plaza
Medium Flat White: $4.00.
I often will go here over the weekend to buy lunch,
usually a chicken sandwich with avocado. I don’t buy coffee here as much
though.
Coffee: Quite a nice coffee taste that remains nice
on the palette for the duration. (4/5)
The aforementioned distinctive lime green cup. |
Milk: Nice foam going on in this cup, but a bit of
an odd taste that just puts a question mark over your head. (3.5/5)
Presentation: A distinctive lime green cup makes it
easy to identify this. The lid seems to be of a cheap and nasty plastic. Sure,
it might save a few cents per cup to your bottom line but it’s pretty low rent.
(2/3)
Verdict: It’s not a bad coffee, but it’s not great
either. It’s just lacking a bit in all areas, rather than having one part of it
that’s bad. You can have one with lunch, no problem. Its opening hours, sadly, don’t
work well for the morning work rush. It is the cheapest flat white so far though - if you're into that sort of thing.
Overall
rating: 9.5/13. Like a lot of plaza coffees, reasonably good
but not great.
